climb

this heat
could melt sheets
of ice, raining down over me
frozen in place for so long

your tall lines cast
an impenetrable shadow
but climbing this mountain
has become my most desired feat
because i want your wild,
your sticky sweet
i want to fall to my knees
at your feet

but all of our angles
are far too discrete
(i just want your hands on me)
images twisting like jaded smoke
of when they'll finally meet
(so put your hands on me)

if you only knew
how the flames have taken over
captive body and hungry mind
slow burn as we run out of time
longing to give in to the flames
licking relentlessly at my shoes-

but i'll keep on climbing
until i reach you.
